In 1982 the Joullian and Sias families founded this dramatic estate vineyard and winery high in the remote mountains of Carmel Valley. We pioneered the growing of several clones of each grape varietal which are then individually fermented and blended to create our rich and fragrant Cabernet Sauvignon and our barrel fermented Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Visitors by appointment only, Mon-Fri, 10 am-3 pm.

Bill Jekel planned his first vineyard in 1972 and released his first vintage in 1978. The vineyards are located on the deep, gravelly soils deposited eons ago by the Arroyo Seco River, which gives its name to this unique viticultural appellation. Jekel's vineyards, Gravelstone and Sanctuary Estate, showcase the Arroyo Seco's ideal conditions for growing premium wine grapes. Jekel Vineyards produces these premium estate bottled wines: Johannisberg Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Tasting room open 10am-5pm, daily.
